Professionally

I’ve spent 25 years in the financial services profession, particularly focusing on those approaching and in retirement. I’m a Chartered adviser, having achieved Chartered status through the London Institute of Banking & Finance, widely regarded as the gold standard for professional standing in financial advice. For individual clients, I help consolidate pensions and build a sustainable retirement income.

A big part of that work is pension drawdown: turning hard-earned savings into a flexible income that lasts, while managing the risks that come with it. I’m also the person behind comparedrawdown.co.uk, a comparison site for anyone weighing up their income drawdown options.

Alongside individual clients, I work with corporate clients on their workplace pension schemes and employee benefits, including group life and group income protection. Many employers set up their pension at auto-enrolment and haven’t looked at it since: default fund performance, charges, provider service and the support employees actually receive can all drift over the years. A proper review often means a better deal for the business and better outcomes for staff. It’s something I feel strongly enough about that I built a platform for it, pensionreviewpro.co.uk, to make reviewing a workplace scheme straightforward.

Personally

I love a good walk (a skill refined in lockdown). Living in Yorkshire, there is so much on our doorstep, obviously weather permitting, I’m not crazy enough to go out when it’s wet!

I have a daughter, now six, who takes up the vast majority of my spare time.

I love: Walking, family time, sunshine, wine.

I loathe: Rainy weather, bad customer service, negativity.
